Chessingtons

We visited Chessingtons World of Adventure on the 15 / 04 / 05Its a nice small family park and very well themed. We were looking forward to seeing this park as we had been to all the other tussauds parks, and as they had revamped Alton Towers and Thorpe park recentlyto sell to a dubai firm, we were expecting Chessingtons to be the same.

ch10

It was in most cases, but when we arrived at the gate there was a sign Vampire and Ramesses Revenge were shut. Which was a bit disappointing as I had gone there to ride Vampire. There were a few complaints from other park visitors about the same issue as we left The ticket booths to go in the park.

Apart from the two rides being shut the park still had lots to offer And the way the park was themed made it a fun And soon took away the disappointment of the closed rides. The park was so quiet we had no waiting times for rides and Almost felt like the park was open just for us, so plenty of ride time on the three remaining coasters running.

Dragons Fury a spinning coaster the Bigger Runaway Train another copy of The Alton Towers Version and Rattlesnake a wild mouse ride which was almost a mirror image of Cheeta chase in Busch Gardens Tampa but with Mexican mine theme.

With Vampire shut all Transylvania shut all that was there was a McDonalds so unless you were hungry it wasn't worth going there.

The main bulk of the park is set in two areas Land of Dragons and Mexicana. Dragons Fury

Rattlesnake and runaway train are here, so the majority of the day was spent here.

ch11

the sign for Hocus Pocus Hall a spooky attraction which seems to be all the rage these days at UK parks with Hex at Alton Towers and Trauma Towers in Blackpool.

The park also has a zoo and the first inhabitant we saw was this little guy.

ch22

The parks theming was very good. Animated dragons, ancient china and even a comic book world.

ch21

Dragons Fury a spinning coaster the bigger versionOf Spinball Wizzer at Alton Towers

ch16

This is slightly bigger than the Alton Towers version and is more of an out and back track, where as Spinball Wizzer is a twisty mouse style track

ch17

ch18

One thing they had on this ride was a sign showing you how to load the car to increase or decrease the spin..

ch19

ch20

My personal opinion is Spinball Wizzer is a far better ride than Dragons Fury but it is still worth riding

Beanoland

ch

Beanoland was mainly for children, but if you ever grew up reading these comics you would enjoy just sitting in the middle checking out all the cartoonsr.

ch1

Billy's Whizzer chair ride with water cannons firing up at you..

ch2

One of the Kiddie rides a magic carpet bus.

ch4

Yes Tina is enjoying it more than Wesley

ch3

If you need a break from the kids put them in here and sit in the cafe across the square and relax.

Dragon Falls

ch13

Dragon Falls a very nice themed log flume ride. With a couple of drops and a section which takes you in through the mouth of a dragon ending up in the main drop out of a lost china temple.

ch14

This is most probably the best theme log flume next to Valhalla in Blackpool.

ch15

ch7

I am sure i have seen this in my local takeaway

ch23

Mystic East had just had a Thorpe parks old ferris wheel installed, painted black and renamed to Peeking Heights.

Rattlesnake

ch25

This ride is like a mirror image of Cheetah Chase in BuschGardens with only one slight difference A THEME.

ch27

This was a bit smoother to ride than the florida version and with the theme it went in and out of buildings which added to the rides excitement.

ch26

Riders had to be 1.4 metres to ride this and all the other big rides in the park were set to 1.2 meters which we thought was odd as it wasn't half as intense to ride as Dragons Fury.

ch28

Runaway Train is a copy of The Alton Towers Version.

ch29

The only family coaster here for younger kids.

FORBIDDEN KINGDOM

ch24

Forbidden Kingdom was next and as Ramesses Revenge was shut the only attraction there was Tomb Blaster, yes you’ve guessed it a ghost ride with laser zappers. (Say no more.)

ch31

Transylvania

ch32

Even though Vampire was shut, we walked down to look at the track, it was covered in moss and in quite a bad state. With all the work that had been done in the other parks I wondered why this ride hadnt been done.

The truck racing ride seemed to have more adults than kids riding it but we liked the blue one so here is the photo.

ch8

A classic Carousel and the darker it got the better looking.

ch12

Chocolate Castle we lost Tina in here for hours.

ch30

The monorail that took you over the zoo area it wobbled, it banged, it made it.

ch5

The Black Buccaneer pirate ship was stuffed into a small valley between Dragons Fury and Vampire, a bit odd as if you didn't walk around the back of Dragons Fury you would miss it..

ch6

Overall Chessingtons is a good small park and if the main two rides were open it would have been much better, So all in all not a bad park and as it is so close to Thorpe park a 15 minute drive you can visit both parks in one day. if you are a credit whore like me that is.
