On the 19th of feb we went to opening day at Blackpools Pleasure Beach.
It took us nearly four hours to get there, but as the park opened at 12pm we made it in plenty of time. |
| |
 |
| |
The Big One |
| |
 |
| |
This was a big disappointment, it looks great and very big, but its all about the first drop and that is all, the rest of the ride was slow and very uneventful |
| |
|
| |
This curve was so slow it was actually very uncomfortable to ride. |
| |
|
| |
Theming was good
though, like using giant drinks cans for a tunnel. |
| |
 |
| |
 |
| |
 |
| |
 |
| |
One thing
is it did look good at night, and even though it started snowing they still ran until the park closed. |
| |
 |
| |
Revolution |
| |
 |
| |
This is the only coaster with an inversion, you do it twice once forwards then backwards.
It starts off up higher than the loop launches down to it, then rises again to the far end reverse launch. |
| |
 |
|
 |
| |
It has
a launch system at both ends which makes the first drop great fun going in either direction. |
| |
 |
| |
One thing
we thought was pretty cool on this ride was the ride op, who controls
the reverse launch system has to ride the coaster to go to work
or go on their breaks, as there are no stairs to the far end of
the coaster. |

| |
Ice
Blast |
| |
 |
| |
Ice Blast is your
typical bounce ride, it has been at the park for a good few years
now and had a few name changes, but still is very popular. |
| |
 |
| |
Grand National |
| |
 |
| |
This ride
is awesome it has had a face lift and a bit of a rebuild since
it caught fire, but they have done a great job of returning it
to its former glory with a new station and with new trains coming
soon, it should be even better. |
| |
 |
| |
The first drop |
| |
 |
| |
The old
trains have been given a lick of paint and re upholstered.
Avalanche |
| |
 |
| |
This ride
was a lot of fun, the station was themed like a cable car lift station and the trains looked like bobsleighs. |
| |
 |
| |
Its the
first coaster we have ridden without tracks and boy was it fun.
It seemed to get faster as the ride went on and was the only ride
that gave us some real g forces. |
| |
 |
| |
 |
| |
The Big Dipper |
| |
 |
| |
Built in the 20's its an old one and The Big Dipper wasn't as big as most wooden coasters, but still gave a hell of a ride loads of airtime on this baby |
| |
 |
| |
 |
| |
There were
some great headchopping moments like this one as it goes under
one of the walkways in the park |
| |
 |
| |
Yes we
are pleased to be on the dipper
Steeplechase |
| |
 |
| |
This ride
was unusual its a racing coaster but with three horses instead
of trains. |
| |
 |
| |
With a
couple of lift hills, it made for a pretty decent ride. |
| |
 |
| |
yes we
did win.
Wild Mouse |
| |
 |
| |
OMG, this
ride is scary, its fast and turns on a sixpence or dime which
ever side of the pond you,re on. |
| |
 |
| |
This is
easily the best mouse around it makes you feel that you,re going
to leave the track at any minute, and has the best headchoppers
in the park. It is a must ride if you visit. |
| |
 |
| |
Bling got real close
to The Big Ones framework which added to the thrill of the ride. |
| |
 |
| |
Flying Machines Is one
of the first rides you see when you enter the park and is one
of the slowest. |
| |
 |
| |
Yes we
rode on Circus Clown Coaster, what a bunch of credit whores we
are. |
| |
 |
| |
Log
Flume was positioned between The Big One and The Big Dipper which gives
good views of both the rides. |
| |
 |
| |
This baby
did mach 0.001 around the park. |
| |
 |
| |
Trauma
Towers spooky on the outside, Spinny on the inside.. |
| |
 |
| |
Scary things
that escaped from Trauma Towers. |
